Technique: Dressing up Your Lips - Lip Gloss
Posted by
onLip gloss may be used alone, with lipliner or over lipliner and lipstick depending on the look you want to achieve. Lip gloss may be colored or clear. It may have treatment properties such as a plumping lip gloss which makes the lips fuller, or a conditioning lip gloss to make the lips softer and more supple.
One drawback with lip gloss is that it needs to be applied more frequently than lipstick, but you will find that when used with lipliner and lipstick it lasts much longer than when used alone.
Application
Apply chapstick, mostly Baby Lips or Blistex (weird, I know, but it works for me).
Line the upper lip. Kind of like what is shown in the photos below, and after that, apply to the corners.
Start out in the middle of the bottom lip (pretty similar to the third picture of the tutorial) and then line it all the way to the corners. I like to overdraw mine so my mouth is longer.
Put lipstick on upper lip and rub lips together.
Put lipstick on lower lip.
Blend the area between the lipstick and the lipliner with a lip brush, so they blend together well.
